Five minutes, once.
twozero installs into the TouchDesigner interface, not into your project — nothing is written into your .toe file. After this it loads with every patch you open.

Welcome to TWOZERO
The creative layer for TouchDesigner.
Describe what you want, watch it build.

BEFORE YOU START
- TOUCHDESIGNER
- Build 2025.33070 or newer. Free, Commercial or Pro — all of them work.
- WINDOWS
- Win 10 or newer, a modern gaming-class machine.
- MACOS
- M1 or newer, macOS 10.14+. Full Disk Access for TD is required.
- YOUR AGENT
- Claude Code, Cursor or Codex need nothing extra installed.
- 01
Download the plugin
One file. No installer, no account, nothing to sign up for. The button hands you a .tox and that is the entire download.
DOWNLOAD PLUGIN twozero.ai/download - 02
Double-click the file
Close whatever you are working on first. TouchDesigner opens the .tox as its own project, with nothing of yours in the way.
- 03
Click GET STARTED
The plugin writes itself into the TouchDesigner interface. TD may freeze for a few seconds — that's normal, don't kill it.
- 04
Confirm one prompt
One system prompt, once. On Windows it can open behind the TD window — if nothing happens, check the taskbar.
- 05
Open your project
A launcher icon sits next to 'Open palette'. The plugin loads with every patch you open from now on.
- WHY A PERMISSION AT ALL
- twozero installs into TouchDesigner's own interface file, so it is there in every patch you open. Writing that file is what needs the prompt — asked once, at install.
- MACOS STOPS ON ONE MORE STEP
- Without Full Disk Access the installer waits and the button becomes OPEN SETTINGS & QUIT TD. Toggle TouchDesigner on, then run the installer again.
- GRANT IT UP FRONT
- System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access → TouchDesigner, before you run the installer. Then there is no stop at all.
The wizard opens by itself the moment the install finishes. Reopen it any time: plugin window → MCP → Reconnect agents.
- 01
Pick your agent, press CONNECT
twozero scans your machine and lists what it finds. CONNECT merges one entry named twozero_td into that agent's own config file. Already-connected agents show CONNECTED instead.
- 02
Reload the client
Cursor: reload the window. Claude Code: restart & check /mcp. Codex: restart. Nothing to paste back — twozero watches for a live agent and picks it up.
- 03
Verify, take the starter prompt
The wizard confirms a live connection, not just a correct config file, and hands you a prompt: "Show me what you can see in my TD project."
You're connected!
Your agent can now see and build in TouchDesigner.
The plugin, the agent and the eleven tools work signed out and cost nothing. An account adds two things: your Cloud — components with version history (100 MB free) — and ai generations.
- 01
Press LOGIN in the plugin
Top right corner. Two ways in: a six-digit code by email, or a browser round-trip if you are already signed in on twozero.ai.
- 02
Confirm the client in the browser
twozero.ai asks you to authorize this desktop client. First time round you accept the terms and the account is created on the spot.
- 03
Check what you actually got
Your name in the top bar opens plan, balance and cloud storage. Free gives 100 MB of Cloud and a $0 balance — generations are charged per run, 1 credit = $1.
If something goes wrong
THE FOUR WE GET ASKED ABOUT- GET STARTED does nothing
- On Windows the permission prompt can open behind the TouchDesigner window — check the taskbar. On macOS the installer is waiting on One more step until Full Disk Access is granted.
- The agent doesn't see the twozero tools
- Timing, almost always. With TouchDesigner fully loaded, start a new chat. Still nothing: run curl http://localhost:40404/ — JSON back means the server is up.
- The plugin is gone after updating TD
- Expected. The plugin is stored per TD build, so a new build needs a fresh install. Your settings and local folder load automatically.
- TouchDesigner closes itself after a minute
- A leftover from an old version written into TouchDesigner’s own interface file. Update the plugin (Settings → Check updates) or install the latest twozero.tox again.
